Pairs of Angles | Caddell Prep

Learn about the common pairs of angles including vertical, supplementary and complementary angles.

Some information to remember:

The largest angle measure is $360^\circ$ , because that is when the angle makes a full rotation, or a full circle.
Right angles always measure $90^\circ$ , and are represented graphically by a box $\Box$ .
Straight lines measure $180^\circ$

Two intersecting lines form 4 separate angles. The angles opposite of each other will always equal to each other, which are also known as vertical angles.

Complementary angles are two angles that add up to $90^\circ$ . This means that if you have one complementary angle, you can find the second angle by subtracting the given angle from 90.

Supplementary angles are two angles that add up to $180^\circ$ . Just like complementary angles, you can subtract your given angle from 180 to find the second angle.
