What a Session Looks Like
Students log in at the scheduled time. The instructor works problems on a shared whiteboard that everyone can see and write on. Students ask questions by voice or by chat, whichever they’re comfortable with.
We use a platform built for teaching, not a video call with a whiteboard app open next to it. That matters more than it sounds like it should. On a general video platform, the instructor is talking at a grid of faces. On ours, everyone is looking at the same problem and can mark it up.
Everything the instructor writes during the session is saved into the student PDFs afterward. A student going back over a problem sees the actual work from that class, not a clean copy of the slide.
Homework is assigned through the platform with instant feedback, so a student knows immediately whether he got a question right. Practice tests run through the same system and feed the topic assessment we use across all of our courses.
Why 8 Students Matters More Online
Eight is the cap for the in-person class too, but the number does more work online.
In a physical classroom, an instructor can see faces. He notices the student who has stopped writing, or who looks lost, or who is about to ask something and doesn’t. In a video session with thirty students, none of that is visible. A quiet student is invisible in a way he wouldn’t be in a room.
National online SAT courses commonly run sessions with twenty to a hundred students. That isn’t a bigger version of this class. It’s a lecture with a chat window.
With eight, the instructor knows who is struggling with what. Students also ask questions, which is most of the value. A student who won’t unmute in front of forty people will speak up in front of seven.
Who Teaches the Class
Large test prep companies hire instructors and hand them a script written by someone in another department. The person teaching your student may have no connection to whoever built the course.
Every instructor here is trained by Glyn Caddell on the curriculum he built. He went through every practice test the College Board has released, categorized every question into 32 specific topics, measured how often each one appears, and wrote the lessons in that order. He also wrote Digital SAT Math Secrets, which is included with the class inside the platform.
That means the lessons a student gets are the same lessons regardless of which instructor teaches his section. Same curriculum, same training, same method.

Where Students Take the Class From
Anywhere with an internet connection. Students don’t need to be in New York, and they don’t need to be near Staten Island.
For most families the commute is the deciding factor. Three sessions a week for four weeks means twenty-four trips, and for a junior with sports and homework that’s often the thing that makes a class impossible.
There’s also the money. The online class is $799 and the in-person class is $1,299, for the same 24 hours, the same cap, the same lessons, and the same guarantee. The $500 difference is the facility.
Two honest limits. Sessions run on Eastern time, so students in other time zones can take the class but the times won’t always be convenient. And we run fewer start dates than a national company does, because we run small classes.
Is the Online Class Right for Your Child?
A live class works for a student who needs a schedule and an instructor. Self-paced material doesn’t help a student who won’t open it.
Online works for a student who can sit in front of a screen for three hours and stay in it. Some students can and some can’t, and a parent normally knows which one he has.
Both of those have to be true. A student who needs the structure but drifts on video is better served by the in-person class, even at the higher price.

The two classes are identical in content. Same 24 hours, same 8 lessons, same 4 practice tests, same 8-student cap, same guarantee, and instructors trained on the same curriculum.
Three things differ.

- The room. Some students concentrate better with other people physically present.

Before enrolling, it’s worth knowing where the points are going.
A free diagnostic SAT gives a student an accurate score based on College Board scoring, plus a breakdown of which of the 32 topics are costing him the most points. It’s also the baseline the 100-point guarantee is measured against.
There’s no charge, and it can be taken online, which matters if you aren’t near Staten Island.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the sessions recorded?
No, and here’s why.
A recorded lecture is useful. A recording of an eight-student class is much less so, because most of what happens in the session is the instructor responding to what these particular students got wrong that day.
Recording also changes how a class runs. Students who know they’re being recorded ask fewer questions. Students who know they can watch later attend less. In a class where the whole point is small-group interaction, both of those cost more than the recording would be worth.
What if my child misses a class?
Students have access to all of the notes in their online student PDFs, including the annotations the instructor made on the whiteboard during the session. A student who misses a class sees the actual work from that class, not a summary of it.
What does a student need to join a session?
A computer or tablet with a browser, an internet connection, and a microphone. A webcam is helpful but not required.
Are materials shipped or digital?
Digital. All of the books and materials are inside the online platform, so there’s nothing to wait for and nothing to lose. A student can start the day he enrolls.
Is the online class the same as the in-person class?
Yes. Same lessons, same practice tests, same eight-student cap, same guarantee, and instructors trained the same way. The difference is where the student sits.
Does a student need a printer?
No. Everything can be done on screen, though some students prefer to print practice tests to work on paper the way they would on test day.
