1. Francisco Pizarro, leader of the Spanish conquistadors, reached Inca territory in 1526.

_Q. When Pizarro returned from Spain, he faced many obstacles, including smallpox, which weakened his forces.
_R. Pizarro returned to Spain and was given approval to conquer the region.
_S. He, and the conquistadors, realized this territory would be prosperous if taken over.
_T. He was able to recruit tens of thousands of native allies to fight on his side against the Incas.
_U. Pizarro with his men and native allies captured the ruler of the Incas, but the Incas continued to resist the Spanish until they were finally defeated in 1572.

2. Clara Barton’s father spoke with her about the Civil War and convinced her that as a Christian it’s her duty to help the soldiers.

3. Emergency response during a flood is critical because floodwater causes nearly as many deaths as tornadoes, hurricanes, and lightning combined.

_R. Floodwater rescue teams are made up of firefighters, police officers, and EMTs that have received additional training for water rescue techniques.

5. Starting and publishing a magazine is not as glamorous as you may believe; it takes a lot of work, money and perseverance.

_R. The last, but possibly the most important obstacle to overcome, is distributing the magazine, because without distribution, you will not be able to get your magazine into the hands of readers and earn money.
_S. After you create the content and design the magazine, you will need to select a printing company and make decisions regarding how many copies to print and what type of paper to use.
_T. The first obstacle is raising enough money to cover start-up costs.
