In this video you will learn how to create a perpendicular line through a point on the line using a compass.
Perpendicular Line Through a Point on the Line: A perpendicular line that cuts through a given point, forming right angles according to that point. It isn’t necessarily the perpendicular bisector.
Procedure:
- Use a compass to draw an arc with one end of the compass on the given point and cuts at two point of the given line.
- At one intersection, make an arc that goes beyond the given line.
- Do the same at the other intersection without changing the radius.
- Draw a straight line that cuts where the two arcs intersect and the given point, which is the perpendicular line that goes through a point on the line.
