In this video you will learn the construction of an equilateral triangle using a compass.

Equilateral Triangle: A triangle with at all three sides congruent.

Procedure:

  1. Create a line segment that will be the base of the equilateral triangle.
  2. With one end of the compass at one endpoint of the base, make an arc that meets the other endpoint of the base.
  3. At the other endpoint of the base, make another arc without changing the radius.
  4. Connect each endpoint of the base to the intersection of the two arcs, or the vertex, forming an equilateral triangle.
