In this video you will learn the construction of an equilateral triangle using a compass.
Equilateral Triangle: A triangle with at all three sides congruent.
Procedure:
- Create a line segment that will be the base of the equilateral triangle.
- With one end of the compass at one endpoint of the base, make an arc that meets the other endpoint of the base.
- At the other endpoint of the base, make another arc without changing the radius.
- Connect each endpoint of the base to the intersection of the two arcs, or the vertex, forming an equilateral triangle.
