How to Use the Scoring Calculator
To use the Digital SAT scoring calculator, use the sliders to indicate how many questions you get correct on each module. The Reading & Writing test has two modules, and the Math test has two modules. Adjust the sliders for each of the four modules to get your estimated score. The score for each test and your overall score will adjust in real time as you move the sliders.
I suggest starting by entering the number of questions you answered correctly on your most recent test, whether it was a real SAT or a practice test. Then adjust the correct number up for each module until you get to the score you want. This will give you valuable insight into how much preparation you need to reach your goal.
How Scoring Works on the Digital SAT
Unlike the paper test, the Digital SAT doesn’t simply convert your number of correct answers into a scaled score. Because the test is adaptive — how you do on the first module determines which second module you’re given — each module carries its own scoring weight, and your early answers count for a little more. As a result, two students can get the exact same number of questions right and still walk away with different scores.
Take the Reading & Writing section. A student who answers 14 correctly on Module 1 and 21 on Module 2 earns a 530 out of 800. But flip that performance — 21 on Module 1 and 14 on Module 2 — and the score rises to 560. Both students answered 35 questions correctly, yet their scores land 30 points apart. It’s a clear example of why where you’re strong can matter as much as how much you get right.
